DJI Mavic 3 repair is where component-level work pays off most. The Mavic 3’s Hasselblad 4/3 gimbal is large, heavy and exposed, so even a moderate impact can bend an axis and trigger a gimbal motor overloaded warning — and the full camera assembly is expensive enough that replacing it for a bent arm or a torn ribbon would be a waste. We repair the gimbal at the axis, motor and ribbon level and only replace the Hasselblad module when it tested faulty. Because the Mavic 3 is a heavy aircraft, crash damage tends to spread: front arms, landing gear, shell and gimbal in the same event. Our free diagnosis is a full teardown so the single written quote covers all of it, not just the part you noticed.

What breaks on the DJI Mavic 3
- the large Hasselblad gimbal reports motor overload after even moderate impacts
- gimbal ribbon cable and flex to the main board
- front arms and landing gear snap in hard landings
- a heavy aircraft — crash damage is often spread across arms, shell and gimbal at once

Common faults and what they mean
- Gimbal & camera — “Gimbal motor overloaded” or “gimbal stuck” warning at power-on
- Crash & impact damage — cracked shell, snapped or loose arm, broken landing gear
- Water & liquid damage — aircraft went into water and will not power on
- Arms, motors & ESCs — “ESC error”, “motor blocked” or “motor stall” warning
- Battery & charging — battery will not charge or charges to a few LEDs then stops
- Remote controller — controller will not pair or keeps dropping the link
- Flyaway & lost-link — aircraft ignored return-to-home or flew off on its own
- Firmware & calibration — firmware update failed or the aircraft is stuck in a boot loop

Repair or replace a DJI Mavic 3?
A Mavic 3 is a serious investment and nearly every repair on it is small by comparison, including a multi-part crash rebuild. The exception would be an aircraft with a destroyed Hasselblad module and a damaged main board together; even then we quote it honestly against the used market and let you choose, and we can make an offer on the aircraft for parts.
Specs that matter for repair
- DJI Mavic 3 (2021) — prosumer / professional, 895 g takeoff weight
- Camera: Hasselblad 4/3 CMOS 20 MP + telephoto, 3-axis gimbal
- Sensing: omnidirectional vision sensors
Mail it in or drop it off
- Mail-in from anywhere in the U.S. — request a quote, get your RMA number and shipping instructions, pack the aircraft with two inches of padding and the RMA number inside the box (packing checklist).
- Batteries: ship at or below 30% charge, ground only, no more than two spares, never a swollen or damaged pack — see the battery shipping guide.
- Local drop-off by appointment in Cumming, GA (north metro Atlanta) — see drop-off details.
Common questions
Is a Mavic 3 gimbal motor overloaded error always expensive?
No. It is frequently a bent axis arm or a ribbon trace, repaired without touching the Hasselblad camera module. Only a damaged camera module makes it a large job, and the free diagnosis tells you which it is.
My Mavic 3 landing gear snapped. Is that a shell replacement?
Usually the landing gear and the arm or lower shell it attaches to; we replace the broken parts only.
Do you repair the Mavic 3 Classic and Pro too?
Yes. They share the airframe; the Classic has a single Hasselblad camera and the Pro a triple-camera gimbal, each with its own page and its own quote.
