DJI Mini 2 repair is the job we have done more times than any other single model, and it is nearly always the gimbal ribbon. The Mini 2’s ribbon cable runs from the main board to a gimbal that hangs fully exposed under a very light shell; it twitches, reports gimbal motor overloaded, or the camera feed cuts out, and a new ribbon puts it right. The Mini 2’s shell cracks around the arm hinges in a crash, its motor leads chafe inside the folding arms over years of use, and the gimbal’s dampener mounts snap in a nose-first landing. Every one of these is a small, well-understood repair we complete from stock after a free diagnosis, for pilots who drop off in Georgia or ship from across the country.

Common faults and what they mean
- Gimbal & camera — “Gimbal motor overloaded” or “gimbal stuck” warning at power-on
- Crash & impact damage — cracked shell, snapped or loose arm, broken landing gear
- Arms, motors & ESCs — “ESC error”, “motor blocked” or “motor stall” warning
- Battery & charging — battery will not charge or charges to a few LEDs then stops
- Flyaway & lost-link — aircraft ignored return-to-home or flew off on its own
What it costs and how long it takes
Diagnosis is free. We send a written, itemized quote before any work; no parts are ordered and nothing is opened until you approve it. Most repairs are priced flat-rate so the written quote is the full cost; complex board-level work may be quoted hourly, always before it starts.
Most common repairs are completed within days of quote approval, parts availability permitting. You get a timeline with your quote.
Every repair is covered by our 90-day limited repair warranty on the specific part and workmanship we repaired.
Repair or replace a DJI Mini 2?
A Mini 2 is an older aircraft, but a ribbon, a dampener set or an arm is a small repair, and the Mini 2’s sub-250 g weight and simple handling still make it the aircraft many owners want to keep flying. If the camera module and the main board are both damaged, the quote can approach the used value of the aircraft; we tell you so after the free inspection and can make an offer on it for parts.
Specs that matter for repair
- DJI Mini 2 (2020) — sub-250 g, 249 g takeoff weight
- Camera: 1/2.3-inch 12 MP, 3-axis gimbal
- Sensing: downward sensors only
Mail it in or drop it off
- Mail-in from anywhere in the U.S. — request a quote, get your RMA number and shipping instructions, pack the aircraft with two inches of padding and the RMA number inside the box (packing checklist).
- Batteries: ship at or below 30% charge, ground only, no more than two spares, never a swollen or damaged pack — see the battery shipping guide.
- Local drop-off by appointment in Cumming, GA (north metro Atlanta) — see drop-off details.
Common questions
How do I know it is the Mini 2 gimbal ribbon and not the gimbal motor?
A ribbon fault usually shows as twitching, a flickering feed or an overload warning that comes and goes with gimbal position; a motor fault is constant. We confirm under magnification during the free diagnosis.
My Mini 2 shell is cracked by the arm. Can that be fixed without a new drone?
Yes. The shell halves and arms are replaced and the electronics transferred; it is one of the most common Mini 2 rebuilds.
Is the Mini 2 SE repaired the same way?
Largely yes — the Mini 2 SE shares the Mini 2’s airframe and gimbal design, so the same repairs and parts apply.
